  1. I don’t on my main blog. I don’t know why – I drop it all the time in conversation. But It’s probably going to show up on my other ones. Just because I can.

  2. I’ve done it once — and a few WTF’s here and there. I don’t usually swear on my blog because I believe that you can be a good writer w/o cussing (tho I do IRL like a sailor), but the main reason is that my 14 yo niece reads my blog, and I have already gone down in history as having taught her, at age 4, to say, “that sucks.”

Yeah, so I watch myself. LOL

  3. THANK YOU for the awesome comment. meanwhile I borrowed your tagline the other nite in real life. I was poking fun at my 8 year old daughter b/c her outfit was so random (read: embarassing) and we had to greet an out of town guest at a lovely hotel. as we walked through the lobby I kept saying, “I’m sorry little girl, but why do you keep calling me mommy?”

it had her in peels of laughter. (peels? or peals? too lazy to look it up)

I am a big fan of cussing. I’ve cussed on my blog, although I don’t think I’ve use the Fword. yet. but, hey tomorrow’s a new day

thanks again for the great comment…bloghoppin, cheers!

  4. I do ..but not a lot really and not in a ‘I put it in here cos i am cool’ way….it just works with whatever i am typing…..or not if that is the case.

I probably swear waaay more irl than I do on the blog.

  5. My Mother in Law is a devout Christian and reads my blog faithfully, and I actually love her so cannot bear to offend her sensibilities by cursing in my blog.

I actually used a dollar sign instead of an “s” a couple of times, and it feels just wrong. But I also don’t want any random pervs getting to my blog through a disturbing search.

  6. I was going to say, “Fuck yeah I do!”

Then I realized that actually, I don’t. I swear IRL all.the.time, but not so much in writing. I think it’s because swearing IRL is fun and a bit of a release…doing so in writing just isn’t the same.

Interesting. I hadn’t thought about it before.

  7. Definitely, but only if it’s relevent to a post or necessary to make a point.

Of course swearing is not a stigma here in Ireland like it is in the states. Many of you would be shocked just going to the grocery store and hearing the everyday language here.

I’ve always been of the principle that saying shoot is the same as saying shit and so on, as you mean the exact same thing. One is just a euphemism for the other. So if you’re not going to swear then don’t swear and that means “freaking” “shoot” and “darn” too. But that’s just me! And I’m a fucking idiot! πŸ˜‰

  8. I swear sometimes. But I think that gratuitous swearing and swearing in context – in your own voice – are different issues. I’m not a fan of swearing for that sake of swearing.

  9. I may cuss in real life in certain instances, but not on my blogs (I may have on occasion). It’s just not the audience I am after. My blogs are family-friendly, and I use them to attract business.

  10. I guess you could say I do…but I always do WTF or b^itch or along this line! I don’t actually spell out the word. I swear all the time IRL but don’t do it too much on the blog. Want others to be comfortable when reading what I have to say. If WTF helps me make my point better though I will use it!

  11. I swear on my blog all the time. I swear in real life, too, but I tend to censor myself more when speaking, since there are often other people around who I don’t want to expose to swearing. In public, someone could hear me swear whether they want to or not, and that’s not fair to them, so I refrain. But on my blog, no one can inadvertently hear me swear and my tiny audience knows I’m a potty mouth, so I let it all out.

  12. Well, my whole life I’ve been told I have the mouth of a trucker…so yeah, the “f-bomb” gets dropped. I tend to curse freely when I rant. I have no qualms about it. I figure if someone doesn’t want to read it they don’t have to. πŸ™‚

  13. I swear a frequently. But I tried to stop in my blog after “nasty” came up in one of the google search terms that had brought someone to my site. haha. πŸ™‚

  14. I don’t think I’ve ever actually typed THE word. I think I use WTF some, just to get the point across. But also, don’t quote me, I wouldn’t doubt I may have snuck it in somewhere.

  15. Never actually spelled out, though I’ll use WTF or #*$(&#*(. I don’t so much in real life, unless I’m stung by a wasp, so it’d be uncharacteristic of me to on the blog.
    Txx for your comment.

  16. In real life, I often cuss like my mama ain’t listening. But I typically tone it down on my blog. That isn’t to say that I never swear. In fact there are some posts I spill all the good cuss words; especially my post about “It’s my blog, I’ll swear if I want to” or posts about completely idiots in the news (i.e. Britney Spears).

  17. Not really..my dad is a southern-Baptist pastor and it would keep him up nights talking to his bff JC if I were to ever curse with the abandon that I wish. At the moment I use my blog as a digital baby book of sorts too.
BUT (and mine is a big one!) it has been hard to keep things in such a formal tone, especially when I’m a fucking sailor in real life!

  19. I don’t exactly drop the F Bomb, but I do let readers know that behind the keyboard I’m cussin’ like a sailor.

I kinda feel like my grandma (God rest her soul) is watching over me and would bitch slap me if I tried to swear too much. πŸ™‚

  20. I go back and forth. Right now I’m on a good girl kick where I only say the “lighter” bad words. I actually went back and edited some of my older posts that used the F word. I don’t use it often anyway so when I do it sounds really out of place. I’m working on making my blog something that I would show people who know me. Not that it was bad to begin with.

  21. Sometimes, it really depends on my mood. I try to watch myself when my kids are around, I slip and when I do one of them will point it out, its just something I don’t do a lot around them. But my blog is different, if the word fits my mood I will use it.

  22. Guilty. But I’m trying to scale it down. Now that I know my kid’s friends are reading me. It’s bad enough they know I have nipple rings. Knowing I have a potty mouth makes it even harder to look them in the eye…

  23. I do. Then I feel guilty for all of the nice upstanding Christian mommies that read me. Then I just say Fuck it. They shouldn’t come here then. Then I feel guiltier. I clearly have some issues.

  25. I’m not much of a cusser. I try to avoid it in my blog and comments on other blogs (especially comments) I recognize that cussing can offend others, while the lack of cussing will never offend.
BTW – I am not offended by cussing
