I was searching out more music for my Ipod today and the tide turned a little old school. Man, 90’s music was something wasn’t it? I suppose the 80’s hair bands were just as sentimentally good/bad, but listening to it again is almost embarrassing how goofy it was. Color Me Bad, ’nuff said right? Anyways, remember that song “Good Vibrations” by Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch? Yeah, Mark Wahlberg before he grew up and played a hell of a role in The Departed.(Must-see if you haven’t already.) My how times change. Now I know you are laughing at me, but that song has a really strong beat to it, and is the perfect addition to my ‘music that will make me bikini-ready by May’ playlist.

So I’m downloading this song, and in my head I remember being like 12 and my best friend calling me on the phone to let me know that video was playing on MTV. There is this part to the song where he says “Oh yeah, you feel it baby”, and Amanda damn near yelling into the phone “I’d like to feel you!!!”, and needless to say she wasn’t talking about me. For some reason 16 years later this sent me into a fit of giggles, and I laughed for a good long while over it.

Ok, maybe you just had to be there. She’ll remember and appreciate it I’m sure 😛

OH MAN!! I remember that! Im damn near cry, from laughing so hard!

Matt and I were talking about this just the other day. No, not my Marky Mark lust days, but the fact that this must be a sign of growing up!! Not giving a damn about how “wack” a song may be, if I like it damn it im gonna listen to it!! We have borrowed about 30 cds from my dad in the past couple of days, to burn… stuff like The Mamas and the Papas, eric clapton, CCR, Lynard Skynard, Lionel Ritchie… the list goes on… anyway, the point I was making is youre growing up my darling…
Oh and another embarrassing Amanda moment… I remember being at your house after school, calling my mom at work to let her know that i was home. The girl put me on hold, and I started to sing Wilson Phillips “Hold On” at the top of my lungs… For 2/3s of the song… then I realized that someone was giggling on the phone. My mom wasnt at her desk… and the lady had come back on the phone.. and the entire office was listening to me sing… mortifying… anyway… im feeling sentimental today so i better go before i start to cry a little!! Love you
